Another fruitful evening with the OCDC group on Tuesday.  Here is Joanne's Santa, posing with Julie's High Octave Hester.  Seems these two are related - hopefully!  Same designer at least!

Some art dolls in the making here, by Judy!  These dolls are fun and Judy had good ideas about them.  Hope she brings them next week!  I'm dying to see what they will look like now!

Julie has been making these cute wee mermaids!  Her daughter has also had a go at drawing the faces - pretty accurately too!  She's only 8!

Joanne has been making this doll for a wee while now.  Jo likes to have many things on the go at once and does a bit on each one.  It's amazing how they all come together!

I've been making an Aboriginal doll called Kyeema, meaning 'of the dawn'. It's an online class with Marilyn Halcomb and I am loving it! It's similar but different to what I make and already I have learned some new techniques!

 I have enjoyed making a dark skinned doll and this cotton lycra fabric is wonderful to work with!

Get a load of those teeth and that profile!  It's so cool!

July/August has been cold and extremely wet, so two classes were cancelled and only the odd one turning up to work on projects, but they've been staying in touch, telling me they're all working away at home on their projects.

Seems a bit creepy this time!  LOL!  I've been playing around with Steam Punk Softies - great fun to make, but takes longer than you would think!  My grandsons think they are way cool!

Joanne has had her pixie in body parts for weeks, and was pleased to finally get them together and have him actually stand!  Clothing will make all the difference.  She did all that without any instructions - pretty darn good for a new doll maker!

Now this cute face belongs to a Troll out of a magazine, that Jo has had on the go, also for months!  She learned a lot about sculpting making this!  Love the hair!  Could be a male or female!  The name Fabiano comes to mind!  LOL!  Can't wait to see him finished.

Meantime, I'm busy enough making patterns flat out, setting up for a new workshop with Fabric Addictions, starting soon.  I'm also making dolls for the Steam Punk Exhibition, making a dress for the Massive Mannequin - earlier posts, and preparing some bits and pieces for the Strawberry Fare in November. I'm on the hop, so to speak!

Jodi arrived early tonight so we got stuck in so she could finish off two of her dolls.  To the right of her, you can see my latest creation in the making - no, not the frog - the one behind it!

Wow look at those brows!  This is Jodi's completed Troll!  she is very pleased with herself - considering she's a real newbie to dollmaking!  I think she's got the knack! 

Another little doll about to get it's head!  Jodie has been learning how to needlesculpt the head on one of my patterns I called Jessie.  She's calling it Gabby because her little girl has the same colour hair!  Jodie is working on three Trolls as well - Easter presents for her children!

Started the year with a mini workshop, making faces!  Two new students, Joanne getting help from Adrianne who is an old hand now, and Jodie, who is doing everything all at once!  Not one, but two Trolls on the go, as well as the head she's making for the workshop!  Raelene is in the background sewing.  Luckily Joanne is sewing machine savvy and got the old machine to work properly tonight!  In the background are some completed dolls.

Look at this colourful doll in the making!  The exquisite wings are a delight to behold and Olive is very proud of them!  this doll will be a real cracker when she's made!  Olive is fone of beadwork and many hours have gone into sewing one lots of tiny beads.

Now there's a real resemblance here - we all agree!
